The exchange student must be selected by the home university
International students can choose subjects from the following study programmes to complete their learning agreements. Please take into account the specific terms of the mobility programme you are applying for.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

You must have a good command of the languages of instruction. Therefore, during the application procedure you will be required to provide proof of your language skills. The required language levels are (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages CEFRL).

– English: B2 level (for subjects taught in English)

– Spanish: A2 level (for subjects taught in Spanish)

Be aware of the most of the lectures at ETSICCP-UPM are taught in Spanish, especially the Civil Engineering Degrees but also you should carry out the basics of your daily living in Spain. Therefore a B1 level in Spanish is strongly recommended.
Accepted Language certificates:

– English: Cambridge, Trinity College, APTIS, BULLATS, TOEFL, IELTS and an assessment by the home university.

– Spanish: DELE and SIELE, certificates issued by a Spanish University, CELU and an assessment by the home university.

Spanish Courses:UPM offers two Spanish Courses per Semester: an Intensive one at the begining and the Spanish applied to Science and Technology course during the Semester. The students receive a Diploma if the course is successfully completed but we can´t guarantee the recognition of credits at the home university for language courses.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

It is recommended for exchange students to register for no more than 30 ECTS credits per semester
The exams take place on SPECIFIC DATES.
It is possible to attend lectures in other UPM´s Schools, but under the following conditions:
The most of the subjects have to be attend at ETSICCP-UPM.
Only up to 25% of credits.
The approval of the other School/s is needed
Be aware of UPM´s Schools are spread over Madrid, so you could spend a lot of time in your journey

HEALTH INSURANCE
All incoming students are required to purchase the OnCampus health insurance. It can be paid upon enrolment, and the prize range varies depending on the length of your stay in Madrid
